So with the brunt of summer finally upon us, I find myself juggling a lot of things to try to keep my Etsy store/blog/fan page/class schedule/inventory up-t0-date — not that I really had a smooth system before, but now with the kids home most of the time it makes finding time to think and work especially challenging. That’s why I was thrilled to find Kerry Bogert’s blog this morning. Not only does this multi-tasking mamma find time to make beautiful lampwork beads and jewelry — AND keep her blog much more up-t0-date — and write books to inspire the rest of us to get off our duffs and make something beautiful  … she even has time to take her kids on wonderful adventures. She even makes jam. How does she does she do it?

Well this morning she gave us an important insight. Kerry shared on her blog the general plan her family came up with for the ultimate summer fun. Just like in summer camp — what a concept! I LOVE her ideas so much, especially the picnics in the park week and media week. If you are a work-at-home parent with school-age kids, you MUST check this list out.

As for me, how often have I gotten to the end of the summer and wished we had stopped to take a nice family portrait instead of just the handful of snapshots that we usually end up with? Well, now folks, I’m proud to say me and the boys are going to do a little brainstorming to figure out what our plan will look like. I think having a real list of concrete ideas to look to will help me cope much better with the inevitable “When are we going to do something fun?” questions. I’ll keep you posted on how we’re doing … and more importantly, here’s hoping that having a real plan for my real job will help me carve out better chunks of time to get all the other stuff done!
