These smooth square beads are beautifully translucent, with just a whisper of color, but you can see the distinct veining pattern of the stone inside reminiscent of dragon scales.

Never in a million years would I expect to wake up with  a McDonald’s jingle rattling around in my brain, but sometimes you have to deal with the hand life gives you … so here I am trying to put that tune to good use by letting you know about a few updates.

First off, I want show my appreciation to everyone who has been so receptive to my work, so I set up a business fan page on Facebook. For all of you who click that little “like ” button and become a fan, you’ll get a 10% discount in my store (just remind me in the comments section at checkout), plus you’ll also get to enjoy my usual quirky updates about what I’m up to, as well as heads up on upcoming shows, jewelry parties and the like. And I absolutely promise not to be one of those people who posts every half hour — just a little pet peeve of mine.

Simply click  here to go to my fanpage on Facebook and click the “like” button to join my club. If you really, really like my stuff, please spread the word by clicking on that “share” button and telling your jewelry-crazy friends and family about me, too — the more fans, the better after all.

Second, you remember that Bead Soup Party I keep dropping hints about? Well, it’s off and running. If you’re curious to see what close to 100 jewelry bloggers can create with some surprise materials, you might want to check it out. I think it’s fascinating to see how some people take beads that are clearly outside their usual color palette and are still able to make the finished piece look distinctly their own. My reveal date is not until Thursday, so you’ll have to check back later to see my final surprise. Stay tuned!

Have you seen my finished piece? I’m so worried that you have and just hate it. Even though my photography sucks your pendant is getting rave reviews!!!

Hi Sandi — just looked earlier today — of course I don’t hate it!! It’s lovely. Sorry for not commenting right away 😦 but it’s been a little crazy here (first day w/ the kids home) and I wanted to wait for a quiet moment to leave something truly thoughtful and deserving.

This bead swap has been so much fun — I’m glad for all the creative opportunities it has brought my way — including meeting you!!!
